Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Acadia Local Rewards (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides SMS rewards balance notification services on behalf of participating merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with our rewards balance notification program.

2. Information We Collect

When a consumer enrolls in rewards balance notifications at a participating merchant's point-of-sale, we collect:

  • Mobile phone number (provided directly by the consumer)
  • Merchant name associated with enrollment
  • Date and time of consent confirmation
  • YES confirmation response
  • Message interaction history (e.g., STOP or HELP requests)

We do not purchase, rent, or obtain mobile numbers from third parties.

3. How We Use Information

Mobile numbers are used solely to send informational SMS messages related to the consumer's rewards account with the specific merchant where enrollment occurred. Messages may include:

  • Rewards points earned
  • Updated rewards balance
  • Account-related rewards activity

We do not send promotional, advertising, sales, or marketing messages under this program.

4. Merchant-Specific Enrollment

Each enrollment is specific to the single merchant where the consumer provided their number. Mobile numbers are not used across unrelated merchants and are not transferred between merchant programs.

5. SMS Consent and Double Opt-In

Consumers enroll by entering their mobile number at the merchant's point-of-sale and selecting Confirm on a forward-facing screen displaying the SMS disclosure.

After submission, the consumer receives a confirmation message and must reply YES to confirm consent. No rewards balance messages are sent unless the YES confirmation is received and recorded.

Consent records, including timestamp and confirmation response, are retained.

6. No Sale or Sharing of Mobile Information

Mobile information will not be shared, sold, rented, transferred, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not engage in:

  • Lead generation
  • Affiliate marketing
  • List sharing
  • Third-party advertising programs

Mobile information is used only to provide rewards balance notifications associated with the merchant where enrollment occurred.

7. Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply according to the consumer’s mobile carrier plan. Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Opt-Out and Help

Consumers may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

For assistance, consumers may reply HELP.

Upon receipt of a STOP request, no further messages will be sent.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect mobile information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted with a revised effective date.
